Chanderi Fort


Chanderi Fort dates back to the Mughal period, which was ruled by various kings. It can be reached through three very famous gates. The main gate is known as ‘Khooni Darwaza’.Because the criminals of war were thrown from above. Another gate is ‘Hawa Pur’ which is the third and highest gate of the fort. There is a gate on the southwest side of the fort which is called ‘Kati-Ghati’. Another place to visit in Chanderi is Badal Mahal Gate is a unique structure of a gate that does not lead to any palace. It is situated at the southern end opposite Jama Masjid, it offers a fascinating view of the fort above. The gate has a height of 100 feet and the structure is characterized by intricate carvings and remarkable motifs.
